More About the Color Blue

Blue obviously is not a new color by any means and is all over the world and in many traditions. From blue Mosques in Malaysia, Iran and Egypt to the Catholic religion's association with the Virgin Mary, many times depicted or surrounded by a sky blue background. Blue is also used in the political world. The Democratic Party uses blue and states made up of mostly Democratic constituents are know as "blue states". Blue is used from advertising logos like Pepsi and The Gap to sports teams such as the Giants or Lowe's racing. We have blue mailboxes (in the US), a blue ribbon when we win something, a "blue room" at the White House, Blue Bloods, Picaso's "blue period", a blue plate special (which is the name of a restaurant in my town........Yum!) officers in blue and blue laws, blueprints, Elvis's "Blue Christmas" and everybody knows the Blue Man Group...........although how they can stand all that blue makeup goop all over themselves.........yuk! But they're  sooooo cool!

Speaking of cool..............Blue is from the cool color family and a large family it is......sky blue, aquamarine, blaby blue, cerulean, midnight and twilight blue, cornflower, lapis lazuli, blue demim, periwinkle, turquoise, indigo, teal blue and the list goes on. Blue is peaceful and produces in us a sence of calm. It's the color of the Throat Charkra which is connected to communication, artistic expression, clairaudience and the thyroid. Blue also symbolizes loyalty........ever heard of a friend being "true blue"? I don't know about you but it make you look at blue in a whole new way :)
